“Assessment, Diagnosis and Treatment of Substance Related Disorders, Sexual Addiction and Sexual Compulsivities”

 
With Clinical Psychologists: Joan Zweben Ph.D. and Brigitte L. Lank Ph.D.

 
Dr. Zweben has over thirty-five years' experience in treating addiction, and training treatment practitioners. She has a broad based background in both alcoholism and drug dependence, and has experience with both residential and outpatient modalities. She has a long-standing commitment to building treatment resources through networking activities. She is the founder and Executive Director of The East Bay Community Recovery Project and The 14th Street Clinic & Medical Group (Oakland) and has steadily developed the medical and psychosocial services of these affiliated organizations. Her activities as an author, teacher, consultant and participant in NIDA's Clinical Trials Network keep her informed of new developments in the field. She is the author of 3 books, over 55 articles or book chapters and editor of 15 monographs on treating addiction. Her current publication, Treating Alcohol And Drug Problems in Psychotherapy Practice: Doing What Works will be discussed.

 

Dr. Lank is a licensed psychologist who holds a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. She has two decades of direct clinical service to include specialization in addiction medicine, substance related disorders, process addictions, eating disorders and co-existing psychiatric disorders in residential and outpatient treatment settings. Dr. Lank currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for the National Council on Alcoholism and Other Drug Addictions (NCADA-Bay Area) in San Francisco, CA. and is a current committee member of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD) Diversity Committee New York, N.Y.; She is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) candidate with the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP), a program and treatment consultant and provides substance abuse/sex addiction assessment,  individual, couple, group and family psychotherapy in private practice in San Rafael.
